Modular Acoustic Flooring

As building design and construction technology continue to evolve, the demand for effective noise control solutions has become increasingly important. This is particularly true in commercial locations such as hotels, healthcare and other public spaces where noise transfer can be a common challenge.

Noise pollution can manifest in various forms, including airborne sounds such as music, voices and television audio, as well as impact noises such as footsteps and dropped items. Not only can these noises be disruptive and discomforting, but they can also have a negative impact on employee productivity and overall satisfaction for guests.

Modular acoustic flooring provides a solution that delivers when it comes to sound, comfort and style. By offering both aesthetic and acoustic benefits, modular acoustic flooring is an effective and versatile solution for addressing noise transfer in commercial settings.

What Is Modular Acoustic Flooring?

Modular acoustic flooring is a type of flooring that is designed to address the challenges of noise transfer in commercial spaces. TAJ Flooring offers a range of modular flooring options that are specifically engineered to contribute to quiet environments and limit sound transmission without the need for additional acoustical underlayment.

TAJ Modular acoustic flooring is made up of modular tiles that are reinforced with fiberglass. Each tile has a non-slip backing that is applied at the factory, making it safe and easy to walk on. The tiles also have a wear layer made of high molecular weight polymer, which sits on top of a high-strength vinyl backing.

The tiles are sealed with Protech Plus UV cure, ceramic bead-infused polyurethane finish. This finish makes the tiles easy to maintain and also gives the flooring an antimicrobial performance for a more hygienic option.

It’s important to note that our modular acoustic flooring is typically 5mm in thickness compared to the standard commercial thickness of 3mm. This thicker design allows for better sound absorption and noise reduction compared to other types of flooring. Additionally, the high-quality materials used in its construction provide durability and resistance to wear and tear. We offer an array of styles that can match well with many different design and aesthetic preferences.

Benefits of Modular Acoustic Flooring in Commercial Spaces

Modular acoustic flooring provides numerous benefits for commercial spaces, making it a popular choice for businesses looking for an effective solution to manage noise transfer. The key benefits include:

Sound absorption

Modular acoustic flooring improves the user experience by limiting background noise and disruptions. This makes it ideal for spaces that are prone to high levels of noise, such as hotel guest rooms and corridors, schools, assisted/senior living and healthcare facilities.

Comfort

Compared to other hard surfaces, modular acoustic flooring is more comfortable underfoot. This makes it a suitable option for high-traffic spaces and settings where employees or guests are on their feet for long periods of time, such as in retail settings, gyms and healthcare facilities.

Thermal benefits

Modular acoustic flooring provides insulation, which translates to thermal benefits for occupants. This makes it ideal for spaces that need to retain heat and maintain a comfortable temperature for occupants, such as hospitals and and living environments such as senior living or student housing. Modular acoustic flooring may also be used in places where radiant heatings systems are installed.
